Wheel balance is often confused with wheel alignment. To fix a wheel that is not balanced our professionals can place measured lead weights on the opposite side of the “heavy spot” or the noticeable tread wear.
How do I know if I need my wheels balanced?
If your vehicle is vibrating at certain high speeds between 50 mph and 70 mph, chances are your wheels are out of balance. When one section of your tire is heavier than the other, it means that area of the tire has had more exposure to the friction and heat of the road.
Look for these signs, and if you find either one, come see us:
• Scalloped, erratic wear pattern on tires.
• Vibration in the steering wheel, seat, or floorboard at certain speeds.
